Sparks Fly

I am a sucker for anything Romeo and Juliet. But unlike all, I don't go crazy for gorgeous Romeo but his drop-dead cousin Benvolio.

I watched this play held in my city. It was titled, of course, Romeo and Juliet. As my friends and I were waiting for the play to start, we were wondering about who would play the role of this and that.

Of course Romeo was the really cute celebrity, Brad Daniels and Juliet was the stunning Francine Scott. But I wasn't excited for them.

I was more excited in knowing who'd play the role of Paris and of course, my love, Benvolio Montague.

The lights dimmed to allow the actors and actresses to take their places. And when the lights came back, my eyes were fixed on a guy clad in red standing next to Romeo.

**************

The whole play lasted for two hours and a half. And for the whole two hours and a half, I was anxious to know who Benvolio was.

After the play, the director allowed us to take pictures with the cast. I was high. Although it wasn't evident in my actions, I was. I just kept it inside.

So yes, as said, my fiends and I had our picture taken with the cast, Romeo, Juliet, Mercutio, Paris and of course, Benvolio.

Up close, he was more handsome. He had a fair white complexion, brown eyes and perfect teeth. That little dimple on his chin. His voice, it just gives me the chills. His smile, that cute smile which made my heart skip a beat. It sent sparks flying. :')

Of course, he was nicer than I expected. He was welcoming and always smiling. And I could go on and on saying how amazing he completely is.

He was too good to be true.

We said goodbye to him and thanked him for allowing us to take pictures with him. He responded with a simple smile that showed his humility.

I haven't stopped thinking about him since then.

Later that night, when I got home, i logged on to my Facebook and tried to search him. I typed his name and added him immediately. Don't call me a stalker. I'm just... Well, I'm just making friends. ;)

That night, I slept with a huge grin plastered on my face.

The following day was a blur. School. Pshh, a usual Monday. Of course, my friends who watched the play and I had our nonstop chitchats about it.

When I got home, I logged on again to my Facebook account and checked.

Before even clicking my notifications, an IM window popped up.

Daniel Vandersen.

Benvolio.

Am I dead? Am I dreaming?

My heart was pounding and I was frozen in shock.

Benvolio accepted my friend request AND IMed me. My jaw hit the ground.

"Hey, can I tag myself in our photos?" he typed with a smiley on the end.

I was still in shock and couldn't move. I had to slap myself.

No. It wasn't a dream. It's really happening.

Hurriedly, I typed my response.

"Of course, I'll do the tagging myself. :)"

"Thank you... :)"

"You're welcome. You were awesome yesterday, btw. You inspired me to go back to theatre class. :D"

"Awwe. Thank you. :)"

"You're welcome!"

He got off soon then. My heart was beating like and 808 drum and I couldn't help a big smile from creeping up my lips.

I was getting chills in a good way. He surely made my night.

I was ecstatic. I was elated. I was happy. The feeling was worthy to be posted on a billboard.

Call me crazy, dear Benvolio, but I think I like you. <3
