Draco Malfoy and I have been together for three months now. Since the start of term, when we were announced to be this year's Head Boy and Head girl, I saw this drastic change in him. I, yes I, felt compassion for him
He was not the guy he used to be anymore. He would not bully other students like he used to. He began to participate during classes. He suddenly stopped sneering, which was his trademark look. And one day I actually saw him smile a genuine smile. And I feel what I may be feeling is something more than compassion. Something deeper.
It began when he suddenly spoke to me in the common room, addressing me as "Hermione" not "Mudblood" nor "Granger". Yes, as awkward as it may sound, we had been on first-name basis since then. We became friends. But soon enough, that friendship blossomed a new leaf when he suddenly "accidentally" put his arm around me and I "accidentally" leaned against his chest.
Those were innocent nothings at first but when he suddenly escorts me from class to class, it was already something different. And we both knew it.
One night, he had me cornered.
I had been wandering around the corridors, looking for a quiet place to study since the library was full of seventh years like me, studying for the upcoming N.E.W.T.s.
I was looking for an empty classroom where I can study. And I came across this deserted corridor where there were rows of rooms. I randomly chose a room and gasped when I saw what was inside.
Tears began clouding my vision and I began screaming obscenities and profanities (Something I don't really do.) that were so rude, all of them couldn't be typed here.
Apparently, they were busy battling tongues and snogging that they hadn't heard the door open and had been pretty stunned when I spoke:
"How dare you cheat on me, you lying, immodest, selfish, vile bastard!" I screamed to Draco who was occupied sucking the Hogwarts Hoe Extraordinaire's (Pansy Parkinson) face.
I looked at their disposition and wanted to throw up immediately. They practically looked like they were shagging with Pug-face's unbuttoned blouse.
"'Mione, it's not what it looks like..."
"Don't you 'Mione it's not what it looks like' me, you arse. I'm not blind for Merlin's sake! I saw what happened, you were too busy kissing the hell out of her! And don't you even try defending yourself you foul, loathsome, evil, little cockroach! I've seen what I had to. It was enough for me to do this,"
I slapped his face hard and I saw it redden. Pansy looked at me like she was about to tear my throat open and started fumbling for her wand.
I raised my brow at her and slapped her hard, too. "That's what you get for messing with a Granger, skank."
I briskly ran away from them and went to the Gryffindor Common Room expecting to find Ginny, but I found Ron, her older brother instead. He was busy studying for N.E.W.T.s, too. But when he suddenly saw my tear-streaked face and my red-brimmed eyes, he immediately got up, almost stumbling towards his way to me.
He quickly put his arm around me and guided me to the couch fronting the fireplace.
I don't know how long I exactly cried but I woke up lying down Ron's lap. And apparently, he was awake. Just stroking my hair. I immediately sat up, wondering what time it was.
"Ron, I'm so sorry for crying like that. I didn't really mean to. I just had to let everything out. It just hurts so bad," I felt tears filling my eyes again but I blinked them away. I had to.
Ron just gripped me tighter and said, "It's okay, 'Mione. I understand. Ginny told me what happened. I swear on Dumbledore's grave that I will kill that ferret for hurting you like that. Cheating over you with a no-goody like that Parkinson Pug."
I cried for around thirty minutes and now opted to get up.
"Thanks, Ron. And again, I'm sorry. 'Fraid I need to get going, I have more studying to do tomorrow," I hugged him goodbye and tried to fix my hair all the same. I was never the vain one but I also didn't want to look as if I got strangled by a cat.
He tucked tucked stray hair behind my ear and asked, "May I?"
But, naturally, I didn't know what he actually meant. My mind was still fuzzy with everything that has happened that day. So, I just nodded.
Ron suddenly leaned forward. I was frozen in shock. I was tempted to look away, breaking eye contact. But it was Ron. He knew exactly what I feel every time. Apparently, shock was evident in my face. He just chuckled and kissed my cheek chastely.
"Night, Hermione," he muttered softly.
I gave away a little laugh and said, "Night, Weasley."
Two months later, Ron surprised me by asking me out. Every bit of me was over that platinum blonde haired douche bag who cheated on me. So, yes. I agreed to go out with Ron.
What surprised me more was that we Apparated to a Muggle restaurant. When I eyed him curiously, he justified where we were by, "I secretly studied Muggle Studies with Professor Charity Burbage and learned about the Muggle works and societies with Harry," and the gingerhead was blushing so deep.
I kissed his cheek and said, "That's so sweet of you, Ronald. Thank you."
The night turned out extremely well. More than I thought it would be, to be honest. We both Disapparated back to Hogwarts before the wards would be put up again.
And in no time, he was escorting me back to Head's room where I stayed with a douche.
"You gonna be okay, Hermione?" He asked.
"Sure I will. Why would I not be?" I asked honestly.
"Well, you actually live with a jerk," Ron replied. As if I didn't really know that, I thought to myself. Smiling deviously inside.
"I'll be fine. I'll just hex him again if he bothers me," I said smugly. Reminiscing the times I hexed Malfoy and made him wince in too much pain.
"Good for you, then. And 'Mione?" I just nodded, urging him to continue.
"'Mione, what if we were made for each other? Born to become best friends then lovers?"
"Then that would be really awesome," I stepped closer to him and noticed his lips were puckering. I laughed a soft hearty laugh and kissed him senseless.
1. J.K. Rowling owns Hogwarts, Ron, Draco, Pansy, Hermione, Harry, and Professor Charity Burbage.
2. Apparently (and sadly), I don't own Harry Potter. If I did, Dramione would be all over the place.
3. The last line Ron said was taken from Colbie Caillat's What If.

It was a weekend, and naturally, I was busy doing my home works for the following week's class.
"'Mione?"
"Yes, Draco?"
"Look, I know you're really busy with home works and all but I..."
"Draco, you can talk to me,"
"I know. It's just that we've been really close over the past two months which is roughly unusual and I don't think I can handle the pretense anymore."
"'Mione, I love you. I know that sounds dung but I do. I really do,"
I didn't respond. I walked to him, looked into his pools of grey for eyes and kissed him.
