Seven Days: Chapter 4
ForWood Fic

"We're just friends," was probably the most overused sentence I said that day. Know why? Cause I merely kissed Tyler Lockwood's cheek. I mean, why would a lot of people give a fuss about it? Tyler and I were friends. So, it was kinda normal.

But in the back of my mind, a little voice was telling me, "You and Tyler. You have something special between the two of you. You didn't kiss him because you saw him as a friend. You know it was something more."

It wasn't something I should feel. I should resent him more, despise him more. But instead, here I am thinking and feeling confused.

Who was Tyler Lockwood for me?

I was staring into nothingness during my final class for the day, Trigonometry, when my teacher suddenly said it was a few minutes before the bell will ring, we might as well just take off.

I packed my belongings and proceeded to my locker immediately.

I opened it and to my surprise, I found another white rose and a note. I picked the rose and note and read it right away:

I finally found you, my missing puzzle piece. I'm complete :)

Love,
TDL
That was sweet. Though it wasn't original. *snorts* But then again, the effort to do something like that was overwhelming. Tyler really knows how to tug at my heartstrings. And when to do so, too.

I was about to go when somebody grabbed my by the waist.

Of course, with my vampire instincts, I was about to bare my canines when I realized I was in a public area. I concentrated on my breathing, counted one to ten and felt my whole being relax. I was about to turn around and prepared to scare the hell out of this person when he suddenly spoke: "Care, are you okay?"

And then I realized; It was Tyler Lockwood.

I then turned and said, "I am. You just scared the hell out of me." He was still holding me, protectively, when I slowly eased my way out of his grip.

"Oh. I'm sorry. I just thought- Well, where were you going anyway? Your mom is gonna arrest me if I don't bring you home safely," He said, adding a quirky grin that I learned to unhate.

"I was about to go when I also remembered you told my mom you were bringing me back," I said, defending my earlier actions.

"Well, before we go, I want you to have this," He rummaged his backpack and got what he was finding.

He handed me another rose with a note tied to it. The fourth I received from him. I hesitated. Would I accept this rose and let everybody think we're dating or should I not and allow him to make a fool of himself in public?

But still, I received it. I looked up at him and smiled, muttered my thanks and held it. I could tell he was relieved and we started walking towards his car.

As he was starting the engine, I asked him, "Would you mind if I read this note here? I mean, with you around?" waving the note at him. But he shook his head so I proceeded to read the little note written in fine penmanship:

You got me picturing your face again, you're something definitely worth waiting for. :)

Love,
TDL
Tyler was definitely something. He can make you fall for him while hating him at the same time. I turned to him and I can see him looking at me. No, he wasn't looking, he was gazing.

"You're staring," I noticed, adding a stick-out-my-tongue to make him feel conscious.

"Was not!" He denied as I raised my eyebrow at him as if challenging him, "Oh, okay. Well, I was," he finally admitted. I grinned at him, rubbing it in his face that he can't lie to me.

"Ty?" I said, nervously as we reached my front porch. He looked at me, urging me to continue.

"Why are you doing all of these?" I asked bluntly. I wanted to clear all the confusions inside of me.

"What do you mean, Care?" He asked.

"I meant, why do you do this? Pick me up. Drive me home. Wait on me forever. Give me flowers. Send me sweet notes..." I trailed off. He walked to me, putting just enough gap for him to gaze at me with those eyes.

"Because I love you," he said earnestly. It was clear in his eyes that he was telling the truth. "I don't expect you to love me back. But I just want a chance to prove myself to you. That I'm no longer to ass I was before. And if I can't do that by the end of the week, I'd still be waiting for you but I won't pester you anymore. I'll still love you, even from the sidelines. I will wait for you, okay? I won't ever get tired of waiting for you. Because every time I see you, like I said in the note, you're worth every second of the wait."

I didn't expect his confession. I could just stare at him, not knowing what to say. I nodded at him.

He did another thing that I didn't expect.

He looked at me in the eyes. He tucked a stray lock of my hair behind my ear and kissed my forehead sweetly. It was like Georgia stars shining just for the two of us. It was bright and something magical.

He backed away and opened the door for me. We said our goodbyes as I watched him pull away from my driveway.

From that moment on, I had drawn a conclusion to all my confusions:

I had already fallen in love with Tyler Lockwood.
And maybe I had always been.
